Was picking blueberries and collecting clay pigeons in massachusetts when i was younger stepped in the blueberry patch and all the sudden this snake stands right up telling me i surprised, scared it and now it's pissed lol i was with my cousin and i yelled COBRA and ran like hell.... I was totally unaware of the eastern hognose existence up until that moment and this 1 was good size and a beauty
You talk far too much. There is no need to tell us what we can clearly see. Try adding some commentary that adds to the scene rather than mindless noise.
Because they are a NYS protected species, do you get permits from DEC to visit and put cameras up on dens?
Alot of the timberback rattlesnakes, range from black and gold to a lot of light tans. In NH, where I live, they are a protected species, and giving out the location of timberbacks, allow poachers, locations to dens. Please don't give out locations to these beautiful snakes
Of course not!!
Lol 😆 this is accurate though.
Dude, that’s just a big spider, which is out of focus and close to the lens. Just look at a spider on its web when it winds… same motion… and yes some spiders have huge and long strings. 🕷️🕸️
I agree, but I was surprised that such arachnid activity was possible in Dec (northern MA) with a temps near freezing.
I am invoking Occam's Razor on my latest take on the UAPs (drones and orbs etc…) meaning; that the simplest explanation is probably the most likely explanation. They are living beings of light. They can be anything they want to be because they ARE light, our human eyes can only see reflected light and a very narrow band of it at that. Everything we "see" is done in complete darkness inside our skulls. Of course the government has to keep the evil aliens hoax going because identifying their power source means that no one need pay an electric bill again.
Pet rats:"What are you doing outside our castle, malnourished one?"
wild rat probably like wtf pet rat bred into weird mutation
I was also seeing these orbs that everyone is just now starting to notice about 7 years ago in the skies. The only reason people are even noticing now is because the news networks brought it to everybody attention.... Nobody looks up anymore.. Day or Night. All stuck in that mind controlling device y'all call a smart phone... Yup smart enough to keep y'all's attention while those in power feed u lies and do wtf they want.. Their dreams came true. They created a whole Nation, not only one where everyone living there are all slaves but where they are actually programmed from birth to be happy being slaves.. Get up go to work go home watch t.v or go party go to sleep get up do it all again every day over and over and over. And y'all call this living a life .. your trapped busting your ass for the government to help themselves to your money, much much more than that but y'all can't handle the truth.. But y'all are exited because you get a 5 day vacation this year as reward for being a good slave doing what your told continuing to make the rich richer. While you're happy he can do whatever he wants whenever he wants... Look around you on your lunch break at work... Just think they like you are happy coming in day after day making just enough to get by on... While more than likely Blackwater is on the golf course.or whatever the fuck they want... Anyway. So what's on tonight to keep you entertained until u go to sleep n do the same shit you did today... They say you have to it's called living.... Well I call it a trap..... IM VERY VERY RIGHT ABOUT THIS TOO.... WE COULD STAND UP FOR OURSELVES PUT THEM IN PRISON OR TO DEATH BELIEVE ME E THEY DESERVE IT... THEN WE COULD LIVE REAL LIVES LIVING OFF OUR LABD HUNTING GROWING CROPS, TRADING WITH NEIGHBORS. HOW LIFE WAS MENT TO BE ENJOYABLE.... WAKE UP
Bro looks exactly like this orb I seen 3 times in the woods.. only this one floated, huverd, glided slowly towards me the first time I didn't give a second thought I ra, knowing the woods like back My hand. Got to this mound jumped to other side covered myself with brush.. well it kinda disappeared only now theirs a weird asslightin the sky moving towards me stopping every 10 feet or so a beem of light would come down in a thin beam then expand it's circle get small again n go back to the light. Yes it got right over me. As soon as it did I'm trying to be quiet but I'm breathing loud ass hell I can hear my heart beating out my chest, then something step's right next to my head .. I froze.. after a min I'm like well it knows I'm here it's gonna do whatever it's gone do so I stand up....... NOTHING... ABSOLUTELY. NOTHING.... I was w someone. He said he just stood there because it went towards me... Then again same spot I told myself it didn't kill me before stand your ground let's see wtf it is and wants... Sheot .. lol As soon as it was like 15 feet from me and I could definitely tell it isn't someone w a flashlight.. VROOOOM!!!!! Gone like a cat in heat... I still have the urge to go back there just to find out wtf it us
Its what I imagine sprites look like
That looks like a reflection of some sort. Whatever it’s reflecting off of is moving with the wind……..

I had a meeting with an orb in the Amazonas 15 years ago - in the middle of the night no lights other than stars in the sky suddenly out of nowhere a very clear and shiny bright white golf ball size of light came flying 3 meters off the ground through the trees slowly and quietly passing the hammocks and disappeared ...... everybody was a sleep. I was the only one who saw it, it felt like it was checking what was going on….I paralyzed but had no fear just watching it move in a straight line across the camp
I have just captured virtually identical footage on my fox cam, in my wild garden..!! 🤍🕊️
Aw those are flirty hops, she's into him definitely 😂 and he impresses her by fumbling a jump. All jokes aside, rats can get preggo even through a cage. Probably check them for worms or who knows what.
Man. I found a wild one in my sink just this morning. I had no idea what to do with him. I spent some minutes in the bathroom just looking at him. He seemed sad. So I took a chance and gently picked him up. He let me do so. I held him in my hand and petted on his little head. He seemed to enjoy this. After some while, my wife says the best thing to do is take him outside. So we took him outside together to a nice little spot. He scampered off into the wilderness. These creatures have a lot of love in them. We all need love. No matter how small.
That appears to be a female

I caught an eastern hognose adult in NC. Simi piney kinda swampy. Was doing roadwork cleaning up brush on the side of highways. It tried going for hole but I grabbed it in time, of course it played dead for a while.
Amazing photography, your channel is gonna blow up one day. Turles always seem to look so wise, were as frogs looks like old men happy with the life they lived.
Thank you for the vote of confidence! I have always had a soft spot for turtles...such a unique reptile with one of the most morphologically distinct evolutionarily "design" in the animal kingdom.
Great footage. Did you set the camera to time lapse or did the snakes trigger it? I’m considering doing something similar here. I’m looking at using a solar trail camera with a wifi app. I was hoping I could retrieve the images without touching the camera.
Thanks. It is set on motion detection for video. The slow moving snakes often don't trigger the sensors, but I usually end up with some noteworthy footage. Most cam models are switching over to solar. I wasn't impressed with the first one I tried, but just picked up my second and it seems to work great with high quality (I always choose 4K/30fps). I never use wifi, even though most of the models I have provide it. Overall, unless they are in close range with your phone's app, service is spotty at best, but the technology is improving!
Great video!
Well done. Love the narration.
Thanks! I appreciate that.
I have a lot of footage of similar things that usually only last less than a second. Others I've witnessed were a lot more mysterious though. Anyone who's interested. Merkabahs are worth studying. I have screenshots of these that when focussed enough to be magnified without pixellating/blurring have 2 common images. - 5 pointed star - seated pilot No S#!+ I swear.

Very nice thank you
Thank you too!
Is this in the Catskills or further north in the Adirondacks?
Further south actually
Never knew weasels would do that.
I wasn't aware either until just a couple of years ago!
Remarkable footage! Those weasels are brave, aren't they?
They do tackle prey sometimes much larger than themselves. Regarding timber rattlesnakes however, the weasels are taking advantage when the snakes are chilled and lethargic, rendering them mostly defenseless.
Thanks Mark. These den videos are so fascinating. I didn't realize fishers were that big. I wonder if they will feed on the rattlesnakes in the winter like the weasels do.
Fishers can get somewhat big and are significantly larger than weasels and can't squeeze into tight spaces like den holes/crevices the way weasels can. Although the rattlesnakes could make easy prey when they are on the surface and not sufficiently warmed up to adequately defend themselves.
Holy cow! Excellent footage! Very surprised the snakes are out in 40° temps and preyed on by weasels.
Such behavior is all relatively new to me as well!
Thanks for the bonus, I just love the life of any snake especially the Timber Rattle snake.
I am just grateful to be able to use such technology to document such behavior when no humans are around.
I was wondering when you were going to give us an update! Nice! The bonus animals are amazing..
Thanks again for stopping by!

Great video! This is a bucket list animal for me. They are VERY rare in my area of NY and I have never seen one. I am 62 now so I am running out of time to observe one but I haven't given up yet!
Sadly, a lot of their habitat has been lost to development, but their are decent populations of spotted turtles in certain areas. Great Dismal Swamp in Virginia for example has impressive numbers.
I am over near Salamanca NY and enjoy watching turtles with my binoculars. We have soft shelled, wood, snapping and painted around here. I am 62 and would love to see a Spotted Turtle at least once in my lifetime too! Maybe this year!
Awesome Work Mark! Looking forward to seeing what you can do for the Pepperell time capsule. 🎥
Thank you! Looking forward to this project.
just released 3 i caught from my basement. They were all snug in their dryer lint bed...I take them to a park nearby in an area where there are lots of bolders and rocks. I left their bedding material and some snacks so they can work together to create a new home.
"What do you mean, you're trapped and like it???" "I don't know, why do you have fleas all over you, and like it?"
LOL!!
Awesome job on this video. Love hognose snakes.
Thanks Mike!
@@mikefalcon670 thank you Mike!
Wonderful work Mark!
Thank you!
Watching with my goofy little plains hognose in hand! Thanks for making these videos - you do such a great job with the footage and information while adding your own humor and personality!
This is so gay I hope I don't see a snake all year.
Then you should have moved to Iceland, not Arizona.
@lotterhand is Iceland also far enough away from gays and liberals?
Awesome Mark! Thanks for this YITL.
Thank you!!
Well Done ! and very educational
I appreciate it, thank you!
As an aspiring wildlife filmmaker with a strong interest in herpetology, this is inspiring! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Josh and you are an inspiration as well (just subscribed to your channel). I really enjoyed your adder video. I am fascinated in herpetofauna from northern latitudes in particular and adders top my bucket list!
@@lotterhand thank you! That's kind. I intend to make a full documentary on Adders in the UK soon. I have most of the footage, just have to put it together. They're one of my favourites for sure 👍
